Celestine (Sallie) Kokkeler passed away peacefully, in her family home, early Sunday morning on May 10, 2020, surrounded by a few family members.
Sallie was born on Aug. 11,1931 in Belfield, North Dakota, to Nicholas and Amelia (Kuntz) Hegel.
She was the youngest of 5 children. Sallie married Donald Carl Leo Kokkeler and to this union Richard, Ronald and Roxanne came and together they had a son Donald M. Kokkeler. Sallie brought to this union a daughter Sheri.
She lived with Don and Theresa in their family home and enjoyed seeing all her children, grandchildren and her great grandchildren and many others. In her early years of life she enjoyed playing poker at the Belfry Bar, visiting her family and friends, and cooking big family meals. She was full of life and anyone who knew her had amazing stories to tell. She was loved by all who crossed her path. A big thank you to Connie for all you did for our mom.
Survivors include Richard, Ronald, Donald (Theresa) Kokkeler, Roxanne Kokkeler and Sheri (Grant) Stovall. Grandchildren Darren (Michelle), Kurtis (Marci), Ricky, Robin (Eric), Shelby (Chris), Donnie, Jennifer, Josh, Lindsey (Justin), Marie, Amanda (William), Amber and 27 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Sallie was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Amelia Hegel, husband Donald C. Kokkeler, and her siblings Eva Ott, Aggie Kroll, Valley Hegel and Irene Sticka and one grandson Justin Christie.
Cremation has taken place with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
